Our Emergency Medical Technician major is an academy level course that immerses students into professional training. Using a wide range of life-saving medical and diagnostic equipment, students develop their skills through real world emergency scenarios and field experiences.

This course is only for seniors and is only offered during the morning session.

C or higher in all science courses attempted Biology strongly recommended prior to enrollment An SSN is needed to sit for First Responder and EMT certifications A medical physical, clean background check, and drug screening must be passed and submitted by the first day of class

Ability to climb, lift, crawl, and carry objects of 75 pounds or more, and handle taxing physical activity
Make coordinated movements of the fingers, hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
Keep hand and arm steady or held in one position for a long period of time
Ability to build and be responsible for physical conditioning, such as strength and endurance
Tolerate a firefighting or EMT environment which includes high places, small spaces, extreme temperatures, dirty spaces, loud noises, and a variety of industry-related smells
