Our Emergency Medical Technician major is an academy-level course that immerses students in professional training. Using a wide range of life-saving medical and diagnostic equipment, students develop their skills through real-world emergency scenarios and field experiences.

C or higher in all science courses attempted Biology strongly recommended prior to enrollment An SSN is needed to sit for First Responder and EMT certifications A medical physical, clean background check, and drug screening must be passed and submitted by the first day of class

Keep hand and arm steady or held in one position for a long period of time
Ability to build and be responsible for physical conditioning, such as strength and endurance
Tolerate a firefighting or EMT environment which includes high places, small spaces, extreme temperatures, dirty spaces, loud noises, and a variety of industry-related smells
