Admissions Criteria
The following prerequisite chart should be referenced when applying for Tech to determine a student’s eligibility. The entry requirements shift to ensure applicants remain on track with their core graduation requirements.
The priority deadline is December 19, 2024.
Some programs have extra criteria to meet in addition to those listed below. Visit the programs page of our website to learn more about the prerequisites for individual programs. A 2.0 GPA and an attendance rate of 90% or above is recommended.
I'm in 9th grade and want to attend Tech next year.
You can apply for the Sophomore Career Exploration program to begin the following school year.
If you apply before the priority deadline
- Your application will be considered after your first semester grades are available
If you apply after the priority deadline
- You need a minimum of 2.5 credits
- 1.5 of your credits must be from core classes (Math, English, Social Studies, or Science)
By the time the program begins
- You must have 5 total credits
- 3 of your credits must be in core classes
- .5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
I'm in 10th grade and I want to attend Tech as a junior.
You can apply for any of our junior level programs to start the following school year.
If you apply before the priority deadline
- You must have 5 total credits
- 3 of your credits must be in core classes
- .5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
If you apply after the priority deadline for a junior level program to start the following school year
- You need a minimum of 7 credits
- 5 of your credits must be in core classes
- 1 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
By the time the program begins
- You must have 10 total credits
- 7 of your credits must be in core classes
- 1.5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
I'm in 10th grade and I want to attend Tech during my second semester.
You can apply for the January semester of the Sophomore Career Exploration program if there are openings.
You must apply before the deadline for January enrollment. Ask your admissions representative for this year's deadline.
- You must have 5 total credits
- 3 of your credits must be in core classes
- .5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
I'm in 11th grade and I want to attend Tech next Fall.
Limited seating is sometime available for seniors. Ask you admissions representative if there are openings.
If you apply before the priority deadline
- You must have 10 total credits
- 7 of your credits must be in core classes
- 1.5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
If you apply after the priority deadline
- You need a minimum of 12.5 credits
- 9.5 of your credits must be in core classes
- 2 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
By the time the program begins
- You must have 17 total credits
- 11 of your credits must be in core classes
- 2.5 of your credits must be in English/Communication Arts
